window tinting???

i posted this yesterday but my post disappeared?? anyways, i was wondering what everyone thinks of window tinting..does it help a car w/out AC in the summer heat? anyone have any pics of their cars w/ tint? my hatch is black..

I went with 20% tint on the rear windows, 35% on the door windows, and a 5% tint-bar across the windshield.

It varies from state to state. Here, 35% is the limit, but that doesn't really matter. If you get pulled over for tint, they write something on a sheet of paper, stand on one side of the car holding the sheet of paper, and have you read what's on the paper from the other side of the car (through the windows). If you can't tell what it says, you get a ticket. I've never had them actually test the opacity of the tint with any equipment.

Well my tint on my car is pretty damn illegal, I have 5% limo on the back windows, front, and banner on the windshield. But this is AZ so i need this incognito tint. [img]wink.gif[/img] Here in AZ tint laws require 35% front windows and 5% or however dark on the back..
But i love the way how it is cause people cant see you and i can pick my nose whenever i like [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I got my windows tinted last week. Got a silver banner in the front, reflective limo tint(cannot see anything) in the back and 2 rear windows, and a lighter shade for the front windows. Love it, it's so cool and who knows what's happening the in back [img]biggrin.gif[/img] ...

i have a guy in fredricksburg that does realy good work nice price too....your'll have to have a close look at mine..it came out nice not to dark...goin price is about 160$ for the whole car.

just out of curiosity, what's the legal limit for tinting windows? is it different for each state?

Oh yea it totally makes a difference with the AZ heat,since its only allowing 5% of light in basically the whole car it helps alot..
